Recording
- Filmed in the town of Gay Head
- Shot on a specially built stage overlooking Menemsha harbor
- Filmed over two days in early June 1987
- Original plan: film both nights and choose the best performances from each
- Weather differed sharply: the first day was cloudy and misty, the second bright and sunny
- Because of the difference, it was not possible to intercut between the two nights
- Simon preferred the first evening overall; the clouds and marine spray gave the concert a mysterious backdrop
- Simon shortened the first evening's concert because of the cold
- The full concert was performed the following evening
- One of the missing songs appears on both DVD releases as bonus footage
