Formation

• Corey Todd Taylor was born on 8 December 1973 in Des Moines, United States.
• At 18 he returned to Des Moines and founded Stone Sour.
• While working at a sex shop, Shawn Crahan and Joey Jordison approached him to join Slipknot.

• He is the lead vocalist of Slipknot and Stone Sour.

Career

• Early in Slipknot's career he needed to catch his breath mid-song during concerts, but over time he improved his voice with techniques taught by vocal coach Melissa Cross.
• He wore a series of masks for Slipknot, from a mannequin-style mask to a leather mask with dreadlocks inspired by Leatherface, and a later pale, expressionless mask resembling Michael Myers.
• He married Scarlett on 11 March 2004 and has three children with her; the couple divorced and he remarried in 2009.
• In 2016 he underwent emergency surgery after discovering a long-unnoticed neck fracture, and in 2019 he had surgery on both knees.
• He has collaborated with many artists, including Soulfly, Biohazard, Rollins Band, Dream Theater, Apocalyptica, Steel Panther and Avatar.
