Reception
At release
- Billboard's Tamar Herman called the lead single "Captivating from the get-go" and described the opening track as powerful and delicate at once
- Herman wrote that the duality in the debut song and video hinted at the group's potential amid one of the most experimental pop scenes in the world
- Herman noted that the 12 members were picked from nearly 100 women who competed on Produce 48
- Jung Yeon-kyung of the magazine 《이즘》 rated the album more structured than I.O.I's Chrysalis and Wanna One's 1X1=1 (TO BE ONE)
- The same review praised the title track "La Vie en Rose" as an EDM song with an exotic string sound and a polished listening track, although it does not suit a rookie girl group
- The review said the concept mixing coolness and prettiness could come off as half-baked
- The review faulted the title track for lacking a hook, calling it fatal for a rookie idol who must appeal to the public
