- Released 12 August 2022
- Her final work with 300 Entertainment and 1501 Certified Entertainment
- Lead single 'Sweetest Pie' with English singer Dua Lipa
- Lyrical themes: self-expression, empowerment of African-American women, death, and overcoming difficult moments
- Collaborators include Dua Lipa, Future, Key Glock, Latto, Pooh Shiesty, Rico Nasty, Jhené Aiko, Lucky Daye, Sauce Walka, Lil' Keke and Big Pokey
- Megan's own definition of the title: a chemical released in the brain when forced to deal with painful emotions caused by traumatic events
Background
- 2020: Megan sued 1501 Certified Entertainment to renegotiate her contract after her management company Roc Nation found it 'iffy'
- The label did not recognize her mixtape Something for Thee Hotties as an album, since it had 29 minutes of new material instead of 45
- Under that reading, she would have had to release two more albums
- 18 February 2022: Megan filed suit claiming Something met the definition of an album with at least 45 minutes of material
- 11 August 2022: Megan announced on Twitter that the album would be released the next day
- Singles before release: 'Sweetest Pie' (11 March 2022), 'Plan B' (22 April 2022), 'Pressurelicious' with Future (21 July 2022)
- 'Her' was released three days after the album
- The label's weak promotion of the album later led to a second lawsuit
