Artist
Formation
- Formed in Los Angeles in 1988 as a British-American supergroup of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty.
- Came together in April 1988 when Harrison recorded the bonus track "Handle with Care" for a European single.
- The label deemed the track too good for a B-side, so the group agreed to record a full album.
- The name "Wilbury" originated in the Cloud Nine sessions as a joke about recording errors.
Members
- Each member used a pseudonym as a half-brother from the fictional Wilbury family of travelling musicians.
- Vol. 1 credits: Nelson (Harrison), Otis (Lynne), Lefty (Orbison), Charlie T. Jr. (Petty), Lucky (Dylan).
- Vol. 3 credits: Spike (Harrison), Clayton (Lynne), Muddy (Petty), Boo (Dylan).
- Session drummer Jim Keltner was nicknamed "Buster Sidebury".

Trivia
- The title Vol. 3 was George Harrison's idea, chosen to play a joke on fans even though it is the second album.
- The Nobody's Child cover was recorded and released in June 1990 as a charity single for Olivia Harrison's Romanian Angel Appeal.
- Harrison was seen as the de facto leader of the group, so his death in November 2001 ended any future projects.
- Two singles from the album, "She's My Baby" and "Inside Out", found success on US rock radio.
